Broken Mirror

Ever take a walk through your broken mirror?
To catch a better glimpse see your darkness clearer
You’re smart enough to recognize a bad idea
But you take a chance
Won’t adhere to fear’s commands
Or maybe you just had no plans

Lured by a sick curiosity
And the pitch black rabbit says follow me
With a grin and a spin of reality
You’re taken for a ride
Swirling through the underside
Where your secrets hide

You were flirting on the edge where the demons play
Now you’ve made your bed in the disarray
The place where god looks the other way
How you overstay|
If only you’d left earlier
When the path was still familiar

Sure, one day you might make it home
But you will not return alone
Oh, the horrid seeds you’ve sewn
Oh, the twisted ways you’ve grown

Wake up now, peel your eyes
Why make this life sacrifice?
Leash your demons, they’re just scars
They’re worlds apart from who you are
Merely your jewelry

Or they could where us in a sick charade
The walking dead go on parade
A new generation bringing back the plague
Ominous eclipse
Self-taught apocalypse
In the mantra off your lips

Wake up now, peel your eyes
Why make this life sacrifice?
Leash your demons, they’re just scars
They’re worlds apart from who you are
Crawl out of your broken mirror
