Wishing Well

A setting sun, a grave dug
Tears poured into the Wolf River
I flew home on a big jet plane
Feeling ripped wide open from all the pain
You sensed my hurt, an empath at work
You came to me gently like a dream delivered
Like the coins in the water
We dove into each other

By the wishing well
Wishing well
Wishing well
By the wishing well

Sacred grounds, ghost towns
Two seekers in wonder, we journeyed together
You touched my wounds and they would heal
I learned your magic is very real
Two hearts, a fresh start
Building up a life, building up a forever
Days looking so bright
Who could know what would come in the night?

But we were wishing well
Wishing well
Wishing well
We were wishing well

But I’ve always known that you were never of this world
You felt so much of others’ pain
I’ll never judge you for how you needed something strong
To ease the hurt away

Love transcends, it never ends
Through all other forces it reaches farthest
Goodbyes are never real
See ya next time around the wheel
Lover of mine wrapped in golden vine
I dreamt of you in a tunnel of darkness
So here I sit where there once was two
Burning a candle for you

By the wishing well
Wishing well
Wishing well
By the wishing well

By the wishing well
Wishing well
Wishing well
By the wishing well

And I wish you well
Wish you well
Wish you well
Oh, how I wish you well
