Cowman

Heard that train comin', so I thought I'd better to somethin' fast.

But my hands were tied, my feet were bound, I looked to the sky.

A cowboy appeared, and looked my right in the eye.... He said

I ain't no boy. I'm the cowman.

He let me go, but followed me back to my home.

And when I reached the door, I turned around but he was gone.

Didn't leave a trail. No clounds of dust hung in the air.

Who was this man that come from nowhere?

Sayin "I ain't no boy. I'm the cowman."

Days went by, then weeks had passed, no sight of him.

Until one night, a group of men cam riding in.

Led by their lantern's light, told me not to put up a fight,

And just when I lost hope, something caught my eye.

One shot rang out. The lantern fell right to the ground.

The lights went out. And I could hear that scuffling sound.

One man yelled out, "You better not do that boy."

Another shot rang out, and he exclaimed to the dead guy.

I ain't no boy. I'm the cowman.
